Sandy! I LOVE all of your photos! I’m having a hard time picking a fav, but I think I’m going to go with Miss Rice Mouth. That’s a girl after my own heart! You should show her my Bean Nose picture. ;-)

M used to do “see-food” too. Thank God she grew out of it! Of course *I* didn’t teach it to her or anything. :)

I love the rice and the New Year part.

Oh man, that leaking ceiling must really suck. It’ll be great to move, for sure.

Much to my dismay, I’m off the “see food” diet. It really messed me up. :(

    Great pics, Sandy!!

You do have a good eye, shutterbug that you are. I want a brownie!!! Martinelli’s has been a favorite of mine for decades (though I’m not a parent). Hope you’re feeling better today.

Were it not for the unpatched holes from hanging draperies, I would suggest two super-sturdy eye-hooks on either side of the vent upon which is hung a bucket so you could return to the Elephant Man that which is his, thereby negating the requirement of an umbrella to pee.

Wouldn’t you just love to see the look on his face when you returned his bucket of water to him?

I’d be tempted to dump it on HIS head…but then I’m evil like that.

Cute photos – and we used to have our washing machine upstairs that would overflow through our chandelier… I was so happy when we moved!

  17. peteNo Gravatar

I had an upstairs neighbor leak once and it took the plumber three days to fix it! I am so happy to be in my own home – with no upstairs to deal with.

  18. LouNo Gravatar

Sandy, Sandy, Sandy. Great pics. Sorry about the leak. If that has happened more than once, how much of it is on purpose??

On the other hand, the ‘mouthful of rice photo’ has to rank right up there with Lotus’ ‘green bean in her nose’ pic, which I saw for the first time yesterday. Both of them rank very high in the ‘Nauseatingly Cute’ category. I mean, if either one of them were to sneeze ….

Right on!! Although I know the grown up ringing in the new year comment is perhaps…just a bit…an exaggeration to some degree? No? Not even a little sip of the libations??? ;)

Oh, me. Oh, my. What a collection of life’s snippets. Let me take this opportunity to impart to all you young mothers a bit of wisdom that was passed on to me. Lotus’ bean in the nose reminded. When (notice I didn’t say “if”) your children stuff their noses full of beans, diced beets, or other foreign objects the best way to remove them is to lay the child across your lap, open his/her mouth, cover it with you own mouth and blow gently. This will blow most, if not all, the objects out of your child’s nose. If you blow gently and carefully it will not hurt the child. I did this once with a little girl I was babysitting. She had some residual irritation in her nose and came to me with her mouth open hoping there were more beets up there and that it would feel better if I could blow them all out. It’s a whole new kind of “baby kiss.” :-)

  24. MomisodesNo Gravatar

Thanks so much everyone! Yup, I really did only have fuzzy fruity cider for new year’s…and I did end up finishing it straight from the bottle :)

Sarcastic Mom—that photo is one of my favorites of yours!!! LOL

Suzanne– Why didn’t I think of that!? I share some of that evilness with you ;)

Lou- I don’t think the leak was on purpose as it was out of pure stupidity..he admitted to overflowing his bathtub the first time, and this time when we knocked on his door, he was in the bath…..either way, I cannot wait to ditch this joint….

Eve- Wow! Years as a nurse, and I’ve never heard of doing that..but it MAKES SENSE! Thanks so much for sharing. Somehow with my daughter, I have a feeling that will come in handy :)

  25. MarysMomNo Gravatar

Love the pedi pedi. And what timing, as I was writing this, my 5yo says “Can we do my nails?” about 5 times. Gotta go and give a pedi pedi!

Shucks! I’m worried with the leak coming from the Elephant Man. But I have to tell you that you have one gorgeous kid. My son, typically Asian, also loves rice.

The river flowing from your ceiling? IS NOT NICE! I can’t wait for you to move, either. Some day that ceiling is going to cave and you need to be anywhere but there.

My daughter? Totally not Asian, but oh how she loves rice. She shovels it like she’s afraid someone is going to steal it from her.
