Abstinence Syndrome

I may be suffering from a bit of withdrawal now that NaBloPoMo is over. As I’m rocking myself in the corner with my MacBook, I am staring at the vacant “write post” screen in Wordpress wondering, “should I…?”

Just as I was about to enjoy my first day of blogging sobriety, I stumbled upon Morpheus over at Kerflop, and he offered me two pills in this Blog-o-sphere Matrix…

The Blue Pill

or

The Red Pill

HilidailiesPenguin

For those unaware of Halidailies, it is an event where “participants solemnly vow to update their Web sites every day in the month of December.” For those who were NaBloPoMo participants, it is merely another masochistic way to prolong the daily blogger’s cramp.

My brain of mush from 30 days of posting is reaching ever so slowly with an unsteady hand for the calming glow of the blue pill. But the withdrawal delirium is making me see red.

I’m on the fence. Which pill would you choose?

30 days of NO posting?!?!?!?! I’d go INSANE!!!

Now, that said…I’m not really ready to take the red pill yet…but I have sincerely considered it…just limiting it to ONE blog this time, instead of three (AND NaNo? Was I INSANE?!).

If you MUST take a pill…take the red! I can’t cruise my favorite blogs every day to find nothing…skipping a day or two, sure…but 30?!?! You’d find me on the funny farm…

Sadie, I can totally relate. If all my bloggy friends decided to take the blue pill….I’d lose my mind!

What would I do with all the free time??…..hmm, I suppose I could do something with that heaping pile of laundry exuding that foul smell over there…..That wouldn’t be any fun though :(

I’m taking the blue pill, but just a half dose. Want the other half? =]

Everything in moderation, the only way to go!

That’s hilarious, but at this point I think I’ll go for the green pill. Or would it be purple? That’s a nice balance of red and blue. Or maybe an orange, for something completely different.

I hear you, though – I was so relieved to be done with all of my writing projects and then immediately began to feel bereft. Nothing left to comfort me but my Christmas shopping, as yet NOT EVEN STARTED. I think I might cry now.

Good thing this time of year also reminds me of all of the lovely alcoholic drinks to be had – something about eggnog.

this post is too funny!! I wanted to blog yesterday too, and was parusing the websites/blogs to find something new from my blogging buddies… I was just itching for some new blogging material to feverishly type about! Instead I cleaned my house from top to bottom to prepare for holiday decorating, and cook THREE meals yesterday!! ;o) Can you believe?? ~ I’m down for the red pill… really I have NO life it is SNOWING & COLD here (yucky yuck yuck!!) so I won’t be going any where very often, I might as well be chained to the computer and keyboard typing my little heart out… or something like that!! lol
Opppsss I missed yesterday though… oh well… I better get to typing something REALLY good today! (lol lol lol lol lol)

Really. Everyday in December? You’d have to be a masochist. Still…as you say, it has gotten to be quite a habit and that, in this case, is a good thing. Thanks for a fun post!

Tina-…..I’m coming over with my pom pom’s to see you too!

Nancy- I know, my day feels a bit incomplete now without stressing over what to post before midnight…..

I’m still not sure about the Dailies….Am I just a sucker for punishment?? :)

Last night, I felt like there was something I was forgetting to do and just could not put my finger on it. I went out beading with the other gals in the ‘hood and the nagging feeling didn’t go away. Just short of midnight, I knew! And it was a huge relief that I didn’t *have* to blog. I am taking a break for a few days and it feels good, really! Plus, I get to catch up on my fave blogs, one of which is yours!

Take the blue pill Sandy. The red one just plugs your back into the matrix. The blue one is freedom. The oracle has spoke ;) …ok …it’s just me talking, but still. I thought november was atough month for nablopomo but december would be deadly.

Manisha- Thanks so much! You’re definitely one of my fav’s too :) I can’t wait to check in again when you’ve recovered.

    Bill–ooooh…. I want the blue. I want the blue……wait!! I’m with the other’s can I have a purple pill?

Hmmm … I’m catching up today on previous posts since your “new” post at Google Reader tells me it’s not there, so I’m assuming it’s still a work in progress. This happens to me occasionally because once I publish a post, I see something I want to “fix” and while I’m working on it … other’s can’t access it even though it shows up in Google Reader (a nifty thing a fellow Blogger told me about early on when I was “learning the ropes” … had made a mess of my Bookmark folder & was trying to unravel and reorganize it with great difficulty).

Anyway, I hadn’t seen this post here. I found Kerflop’s post some other way (though I don’t recall just how at the moment because it’s easy to get “lost” wandering the Blogosphere serendipitously), briefly considered a “hiatus” but since I’ve only been blogging since late October, that didn’t seem wise. So I’ve jumped into Holidailies the same way I plunged into NaBloPoMo (on BOTH my Blogs) and am hoping for the best. So far … so good :)

I’m enjoying all aspects of this new “virtual world” and am hopeful that I can balance “real life” with it during December when things get busier.
    Hugs and blessings,
