Aiming low is right up my alley
Last night, I actually did something I haven’t done in a while.
I went out.
At night.
It’s been so long since I actually drove at night that I was terrified. With my chair pulled 2 inches behind the steering wheel and driving 20mph, I should have just slathered myself in Bengay, rolled up some knee highs and drove myself in a Buick.
But I didn’t. I actually wore make-up and ran a brush through my hair.
All in the name of: Aiming Low.
Aiming Low held an event in Boston last night, and despite their name, it rocked. Have you heard of them? If not, head over and check them out. I love the idea behind their site. Especially if you’re like me, and loves the reassurance of knowing that you’re not the only one who doesn’t just forget to shower, but that you also just choose not to.
But anyway, back to the event.
After turning the wrong way down a one-way street, I finally scored a free parking meter in Downtown Boston and arrived an hour late.
The whole idea is Aiming Low, right?
Besides, it’s not everyday I pay attention to hygiene. And shaving can cause heavy bleeding, in not so nice places.
But it was all for a good cause, even if I totally missed out on the mouthwatering all-you-can-eat buffet with lobster ravioli and a chocolate dessert bar.
I didn’t mind. I had chance to ogle at some my favorite local Boston bloggers, as well as bloggers who traveled from out-of-town whom I’ve only had the chance to stalk online.
Not to mention the event was graciously hosted by HP and Staples. Imagine if you will a room full of bloggers awash in a sea of new electronic gadgets and office supplies to play with.
The products were amazing, especially the HP Photosmart Premium Printer which everyone hoarded in order to print out their amazing photography (even though I didn’t win one. Hmph!).
It was the perfect sized crowd and a wonderful evening. And as usual, I did not take nearly enough photos. It’s intimidating when everyone else has a fancy-schmancy camera the size of a holiday ham, and mine looks like it costs the same as one.
Here is the only shot I managed to snap in focus last night. Actually, I was in the photo so technically, I can’t take credit for it.
Seriously, I really do socialize and take photos with non-Asians. Honest. It’s just a habit to take an Asian Invasion photo when we get together. Kind of like when we visit other cities, and we must drape cameras around our necks and fanny packs around our waists.
I kid. I carry my fanny pack around my shoulder.
Oh, and in case you did not know, that’s me on the far left.
Not that you would notice or anything.
Not when the other Asian ladies actually have boobs.
I’m still waiting for that pregnancy cleavage to kick in,…or puberty. Whichever.
Nope. Not jealous.
*Some of my photos I printed at the event with the HP printer. I created the calendar here and it took maybe 30 seconds to make.
* Many thanks to HP, Staples and everyone behind Aiming Low for a wonderful time last night. If I could I would risk life and limb and hop on a cheap Chinatown bus to NYC and attend your event this Wednesday.
I must say, the printer is pretty darn cool and does some amazing things with photo printing.
