Berry excited
The very next day after Babisodes’ 3rd birthday, she asked,
“Mommy, how long ‘til my birfday again?”
She did not like my answer.
Actually, she had no real understanding of how long 364 days was.
But now that the days leading up to her 4th birthday has dwindled down to double digits she can recognize, she is getting really excited.
When asked what she wants for her birthday, her constant reply is- party with my friends, and cake!
Apparently, the cake is key.
I made this pretend strawberry cake out of felt a few months ago.
And in anticipation and preparation for the big day, she throws herself a pretend party daily. With make believe strawberry candle-wishes and all.

“Only 18 more naps until my birfday party!”

Super, super cute!! What a sweetheart

Awe… so sweet. I just was sharing pictures of Babisodes with my mom today – she adores children the age of Babisodes and thought she was heartbreakingly sweet. I agree.

When did you have the time to make that cake, you domestic goddess? Well my nephew also turns 4 next week. When I asked him on the phone what he wanted for his birthday, he said “Wots of Twansformas”.
“How old are you going to be?” I asked.
“Fouw”
“Does that mean you want four transformers?” I asked him.
::silence::he’s carefully counting his options…
“I want too many to tount Aung Mawy. Too many too tount twansformahs”.
LOVE KIDS!!!

That cake is so cute and I think it’s even cuter that she has strawberry (my favorite) candles and has her own party. I love it.
August 12th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
OK, how did you make that cake? That is NOT something you threw together in an afternoon. I love it.
I think congrats are in order
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged.

I didn’t know you were crafty.
August 12th, 2009 at 5:46 pm
What a cute cake! And a cute girl, too!
Something about birthdays & kids. Today we made sand cakes in our new sandpit, and Esme insisted we sing happy birthday to every critter around – stuffed cat, rubber ducky, etc – and have them blow out the candles.
August 12th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Happy early Birfday Babisodes….we’ll be counting down the naptimes with you!
August 12th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
Miss Peach did the exact same thing! Cute cake…almost good enough to eat;)
August 12th, 2009 at 7:32 pm
That’s what my little one did before his third birthday. I got so tired of it I had to stop participating! Cute, but after a while a little annoying. =)
August 12th, 2009 at 7:36 pm

the pretend cake and baby girl!
August 12th, 2009 at 8:44 pm

August 12th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Looks like she is practicing blowing out the candles. Very cute
August 12th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
I put a countdown birthday calendar for my daughter on my desktop. We’re still in triple digits.
Happy early Birfday to Babisodes. I hope she has a fabulous party and lots of strawberry cake.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:16 pm

Love it! My son is coming up on his 5th in September and has all kinds of things planned — fortunately, it includes having a party at home and not the extravaganza we broke down and gave him last year!
