Detour
“Whatever happened to predictability? The milkman. The paperboy. The evening TV…” Plans, smans! We skipped out on our flight home this morning, and we’re on the open road driving up the east coast! Although we didn’t do much on our trip to North Carolina we were still a bit sad to see our trip end. So we decided a 12-14 hour car ride home with an antsy 2-year old would be great fun! Clearly we’ve lost our minds. Maybe it was all the Wal-marts, or the endless country music, but this sure beats unpacking today. That’s what “later” is for
. *Sidenote*- Blogging from a Blackberry in a moving car should be an Olympic sport.

Good for you guys! It’s a gorgeous day & enjoy your road trip. The hubby & I will be doing one of those next weekend & I’m so excited. Have fun!

Oh – and we do the I-95 from Philadelphia to Georgia trip several times per year. The Carolinas and Virginia are just torture!

Sounds like it beats the flight. The scenery has got to be better than on the plane – and no Dramamine to sleep off when you get home. I’ll take a two-year-old in a car any day over a two-year-old cooped up in a plane with stuffy ears and a bunch of strangers. Hope you enjoy the ride home.

Wow how impetuous and daring! You must really hate flying. Actually that sounds like fun, if the kid is up to it. Enjoy the open road!

Now you get to miss the plane ride. I bet you sing all the way home. Enjoy the scenery and those precious extra hours of vacation time that you would not have got on a plane.

We drove from DC to Boston once and it was not bad. Of course that was before kids. That part does seem a little crazy. Good luck and if all else fails stop off and buy Benadryl.

Our biggest detour was deciding to drive home from Alaska instead of flying. With a 1 year old. It was 3 weeks on the road, and I have to say she was good as gold. I hope you have as much fun as we did!

How exciting! I love spontaneity! Though I am not good at it…
However, one of my fondest memories is gonig to the beach with 3 friends for the weekend. The morning we were scheduled to leave, we were a bit saddened at the thought of returning to work. So I said, jokingly of course, “Let’s not go back! Let’s stay another day!” All three responded with a resounding, “Mmmm, okay!” So we all called in sick the next day for an extra day at the beach!
I hope y’all had a wonderful road trip!

Blogging from a Blackberry while ‘on the road’ with a toddler eh? Seems to me like you’ve totally ‘lost it’ Sandy!!! LOL
Of course who am I to talk? I actually did two memes on Sunday at Small Reflections and missed my Sacred Life Sunday post because I ran out of time and played with my Red Hat sisters instead. Methinks I’m crazy too ;–)
Hope you enjoy the ride home and arrive safely.
Hugs and blessings,
