Dream a little dream
The intense dreams have returned.
Almost every night this week I’ve had long, vivid dreams. Not the kind that feel as if they lasted for hours, when in fact, it had been only a few minutes.
My sleep pattern has evolved into the usual 9-month pregnancy state where I naturally wake up every 2-3 hours for no reason whatsoever in preparation of what’s to come.
And every time I fall back to sleep, my dreams would continue where they left off.
Throughout the night, I have a string of dream sequences that feel as real as the stack of pillows beneath my cheek.
Every single one has been about an ex-boyfriend. Not the assholes, but the ones who were kind. The ones I came to love once upon a time and still hold fond memories of.
My guess is that I’m subconsciously reaching back for their affection. Or back when I was younger, thinner; a time when I exuded more confidence and smiles.
But also, maybe because as of late, Dadisodes seems even more distant than those times.
I suppose I can’t blame him.
I am sure it is intimidating for anyone to wrap their head around all of the changes that lie ahead… as well as their arms around someone so large.

But I don’t feel an ounce of guilt.
It’s not like I went out to dinner with them or anything.

It’s so close!!! Isn’t it unbelievable that in just a week or two, you’re going to have another baby??
I totally get the dream thing…my dreams are always pretty intense – pregnancy just makes them more so!!

As long as they are good dreams, i dont think anything is wrong with that. They were once a part of your life, and they have had a role in making you the YOU you are now.

Hey – if I had to feel guilty over every good dream I’ve had in the last thirty three years, I’d have no skin left on my body for all the hair shirts I would have had to wear.

When I was 38.5 weeks I had gained 65 pounds. 65.
I got stuck in our shower when I tried to turn around once.

Maybe your dreams are a weird way of looking back at everything you went through to get pregnant with this baby. Not that those experiences were kind, but they all were on the life path that led you to where you are now….married with a child and another on the way. And contented.
Pregnancy is such a miracle. You look wonderful.

I remember having vivid dreams during my pregnancies, too. But, never with ex-boyfriends.

I am now about 20 weeks and my dreams are already intense, some I can remember quite vividly.
You still look adorable and it’s just your baby bump growing, I swear. As for me, my backside, arms, neck, basically everything is large!

Yep you are pretty great looking to be SO pregnant. When I was SO pregnant I looked like Violet Beauregarde, you know the girl who blew up like a blueberry in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory? Yeah that was me. But it’s not you because your belly looks pretty freakin’ awesome. And the dreams, those are fun aren’t they?! I betcha dadisodes has had a few unsanctioned-by-momisodes dreams himself and he doesn’t have pregnancy hormones to blame them on. Not long now. Hang in there!

I can totally relate to the restless nights. They suck. As for the dreams, I have had my share of bizarre pregnancy dreams. I dreamed that I gave birth to a dog a few months back. Nice.

You’re so cute! And why shouldn’t you have dreams of affection when your hormones are changing and you need some TLC and you’re facing a period of time when all the care will have to focus on the baby and not enough on you? Maybe the baby’s giving you a little more “me” time before she makes her entrance? Hugs

As for dreams, I have intense ones sometimes too. Some that feel so real I’m not sure when I wake up if it’s something that really happened. I don’t like those.

I have dreams now and then about boyfriends and that newly in love sort of feeling. But I nearly always suddenly remember “Oh no, I have a husband!” right before I get a kiss or anything. I mentioned this to my husband and he laughed because it never happens to him. I’m now trying to teach my dream self not to be so moral!
Has the pain let up at all?
And I’m sorry you feel so unhappy about your body. Just so you know, my husband agrees with me that you look lovely. Let’s hope he thinks the same about me when we start having kids :/

I have to agree the dreams are intense. I had plenty of those too. Then after the c-section they gave me perka something and that made the dreams even worse. Bad bad dreams too, reminded me way to much of taking antimalaria pills. That’s no fun for the sleepy time either. Maybe it’s a sign, soon very soon.

That is really one beautiful belly. You look amazing. Preggo dreams are the weirdest I’ve ever had. I hope Dadisodes’ distance is just due to pre-baby stress. I think the whole pregnancy/labor thing is hard on Dads in a completely different way than it’s hard hard on us.

Yes some men love the pregnant belly, others not so much. Mine didn’t mind me preggo, he just didn’t want to be affectionate at the end, just weirded him out.

I’ll be the 50th person to say that you are so gorgeous!
A friend of mine who just had a baby 6 weeks ago said she went through the very same thing close to the birth. That her husband seemed distant and not as interested in the pregnancy/baby as he had been with their first. Now, of course, all is well. They have a beautiful baby girl and life is good. And so shall it be for you, I’m sure.
