Good Thing I Like Peanut Butter

Today is the day
the rest of our lives begin
Cautiously eager

After 1 long year
we finally found a home
Our search has ended.

Eager as I am
something still worries my mind
A thirty year loan?

How will we do this?
Peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches galore!

A final walk through
and keys in our possession
All happen today

I sit here trembling
wondering if it’s a dream
Wake me if I am

Heart attacks and joy
you all stood by me throughout
I am so grateful

Here is our entrance
Open to new beginnings
Won’t you come join us?

FrontDoorHouse

Thank you all for your kind wishes and comments throughout this insanely stressful journey.
It means more than you know….. :)

    Woo-Hoo…you are home!!!!!

Home is where the heart is and…..
It’s also where you sell you’re soul to the devil (which in this case is the bank) for a 30yr loan!!

Don’t worry, we all do it!!! I have 25yrs left!!!! Hip-Hip-………awww shit!!!

That thirty year mortgage you’re worried about – don’t think in those terms. It’s just ‘the mortgage’. It’s just a bill that gets paid every month – just like any other bill. It may be big. It may be first. But it’s still just a bill that gets paid. Take it one month at a time. You’ll be fine.

Congrats! A new house is so exciting, and fun, and grown-uppish. We built our first home a few years ago and it truly was a dream come true.

The mortgage, though, IS the thing that keeps you grounded. Yikes.

Happy moving in day. Congrats on home ownership. Don’t think of the 30 year point…think of the tax breaks. And, peanut butter is good for you!

You coul dpay rent for thirty years like my parents did and have nothing but rent receipts at the end of thirty years. Their building never even went condo to give them a chance to have the insiders price. They rented and rented (because they had to live somewhere right?) and they got bubkas! So enjoy that mortgage and every year a little slice of that house will be more yours and less the banks. Also, we paid ours down early during some good years, and that is an awesome feeling.

It is better to pay on a mortgage than give your money away for rent. You will be building equity. A thirty year mortgage is not bad in this day and age. There are people here who are taking 70 year mortgages. It hasn’t helped at all that housing prices have doubled in the last year. The prices are still going up. Loved your last post. Sure would like to hear more about how you met and fell in love with your ubber geek. That was a valentine day tease. I am a real sap for love stories. Hahaha!

The entry way is beautiful! I can hardly wait to see more. As for p-nut butter & jelly, we ate plenty early on … (and went for long walks on the beach instead of movies) … but it’s surprising how quickly our income caught up with our payments and life settled down into a manageable routine. This will happen for you as well … so relax and enjoy it all! I wish I could be there to help.

I’m so happy for you! The mortgage seems scary (really…you only have to LEGALLY take care of a kid for 18 years!!!), but look at it as an investment. Money towards rent goes no where – this is building an asset!
