I can’t see clearly now…
Clearly, I pissed someone off. I really should have just kept my mouth shut.
A week ago I blogged about how I’ve grown used to the tumultuous weather here in New England. How I am a recovering Weather Channel addict and no longer have the urge to constantly check the forecast.
Pardon me as I open my mouth and insert a foot.
Allow me to explain.
All week it has been 37F degrees outside, and raining. Heavily. Oh, and then there’s the occasional 50 mph wind gust.
This is the kind of weather that scoffs at umbrellas and rain boots; fogs your car windows and floods the streets. And old man winter finds it hilarious that we’re all freezing in our Spring raincoats.
I mean, if it’s going to be in the 30’s, give me snow. So we can at least still go outside and play, plows can clear the roads, and school can be canceled.
Because schlepping a kiddo around in torrential rain that is damn near freezing and coming down sideways, blows.
Being stuck inside for over a week in an effort to stay warm and dry gets old quick. And for a 4-year old (and her mom), it can be maddening. There are only so many DVD’s to watch, books to read, and crafts to glue before we get delusional.
The meteorologist says to not expect any dry weather or sun until maybe next week.
But I swear I saw a rainbow at breakfast while eating me Lucky Charms…
Bummer! I’m totally with you – I’m SOOOOOO ready for spring. Maybe even Summer.

I hear ya! I’m in PA & HATE the “wintery mix” of rain, sleet & ice that we get. That is how most of this winter has looked although as I type, we are smack in the middle of a blizzard. I say, let it snow 2 feet (as they say it may)- just no more rain!

Maybe you can find a place to go that has covered parking, so you don’t get wet going to or from your car?

The weather’s so unpredictable nowadays! And not only that, they are on the extremes, too! Now we’re experiencing drought in the country, but there was too much water when the typhoon came last year.

I feel the same way about the weather here. It was in the upper 30s (even hit 40 on day), sunny, Spring-like. Then all of a sudden, it’s cold with icy winds and snow. Grrr, just pick a season (Summer please) and stick with it already!

I can’t stand weather like that too. I swear out here in California we have two seasons, hot and dry and cold and rainy. That sounds just like the cold and rainy season. I hope spring arrives soon for you guys!

I hear you loud & clear! I’m in New England, too…and both my son & I are suffering from some serious cabin fever. At least with snow I can bundle him up & head outside to play, even for a short while. But this unrelenting rain and wind…ugh.

Hope the violent rains pass soon, and spring breaks through!
I grew up in southern California, but I’ll always choose to live in a state with four seasons, if I have the choice. Though, some of those places are better than others when it comes to winter. For instance, Denver has an awesome winter – Iowa, Minnesota, Chicago, not so much.
At least New England is really, really beautiful. And Boston is a GREAT city!

Add me to one who could not agree more! Hauling a 2 year old, who sometimes decides she MUST be carried and not walk on her own, through this crap, with my growing midsection and clothes that already don’t fit, really really stinks! Friday was the best though, no power from Thursday night until Friday late afternoon, with the aforementioned crappy weather and daycare closed too… thank goodness the DVD player was charged up!
