I Don’t Give a Care
It’s 24F degrees outside, …and I don’t care.
I scraped ice off my car this morning, …and I don’t care.
I have a zit on my face the size of Mt Everest attached to every nerve in my body, …and I don’t care.
Dadisodes is still jobless, …and I don’t care.
It’s so cold, our heating bill will probably equal our mortgage this month, …and I don’t care.
I spoke with a nurse this week about my LEEP procedure results and she said, “the high risk cells were very close to the margins, so you will have to come back in 4-6 months to repeat an exam and colposcopy….”
Huh?
I tried to clarify what that meant, especially in the long run (as an NICU nurse, I rarely dealt with gynecological issues, mainly neonatal and obstetrics). She repeated the same sentence 3 times and could not give me a straight answer. My doctor was not in the office.
I wanted to die. Or drown myself under covers for another 6 months.
But I don’t care.
24-hours later, I finally spoke with my Ob/Gyn and she said the results were exactly what she had hoped for. My high-risk cells were extracted and they were “close to the margins,” meaning she removed only what was necessary. Minimal normal tissue along the edges were removed. Therefore, leaving as much cervix behind as possible in case of future pregnancies.

Project thank-your-lucky-stars is on like nobody’s business.
Along with “Doin’ it F.A.B. (For a Baby).”
That is, once this mandatory 21-day dry spell has been lifted (post-procedure protocol).
I’m only on day 10 of 21 …and I don’t care.
Sort of.
Oh Sandy.. Whew.. goodness I am so happy for you.. and I am hoping the next 11 days go as quickly as possible..

Wonderful news! I had the same issue when I had my LEEP, I had to talk to the doc to figure out what was going on. I am so glad that you got good results! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!

That’s awesome news. I remember the colposcopy afterwards (you’ll be a pro at this soon) and even during the exam they said it looked good. They can tell right away because of the acetic acid they put on turns the bad cells white. I’m sure you’ll be just fine. BTW, my last PAP was fine too
