You’ll have to excuse the poor photo quality. This is a scanned image of a photo I took years ago, before I had a digital camera.
Although I’ve only lived on the East and West coast of the U.S., I have to say that my favorite sunsets were those along Miami Beach, Florida. This is a view from my apartment building while living on South Beach (overlooking Biscayne Bay). Perhaps because these fiery, orange skies remind me of home in Miami, or because I could wear sandals or flip-flops year round. Either way, the memories of those sunsets will always keep me warm.

SoBe is a favorite place for me as well.

My favorite year for sunsets was when Mt. St. Hellens blew. There was all this ash in the air that made the sunsets spectacular. I went out every evening and sat on top of the haystack to watch.

That is gorgeous! What a beautiful place to live. I visited some of my hubby’s family that lives there last year but wasn’t able to make it to South Beach. Maybe next time.

Is there anything more beautiful than a sunset? I remember what a Florida ritual it was, everyone stopped and paid homage to the skyline.
I guess that’s done on every beach the world over perhaps.
I thought the quality of the photo was really quite good, I wouldn’t have known it was scanned.
I’ve been going through my old boxes of pix, so many to scan too.

I love FLA sunsets…especially Miami and the Keys. Rico and I usually go to the Keys every January but with the economy tanking, I don’t think we should spend the money.

That is just beautiful! I can just barely see some tall buildings in there. I assume that’s Miami’s skyline. I think the quality translated nicely!

We got home just in time for the deep freeze. Flip Flops don’t work here either. I do love my warm fuzzy slippers though. I just wish the dog would quit thinking that they are his toy.
