Reaching

Only three small words
deficient during childhood
Little ears longing

Arms lay to the sides
or folded across my chest
Yearning for rapture

Endeavors to change
now fill moments with embrace
Affection abounds

I love you mommy
I love you Petey doggie
I love you daddy

A cycle broken
Confident arms stretch out wide
always met with love…

BigDinosaur
Okay, perhaps not by this dinosaur. But she did try. Here’s a better pic…

Nice haiku. I certainly don’t have a talent for poetry, but a friend of mine can just recite it from memory…even if he read it many years ago. Amazing.

I’m working on the photography thing, though! People are the hardest. I’ll join the chorus of folks that love the “hands” picture!
