She heard me loud and clear
Just when I thought the fetus inside wasn’t listening.
Just when I thought I would be pregnant forever.
The little girl not only heard me, but she came out with a vengeance to show me what’s up.
Allow me to apologize in advance for not Tweeting, posting, or e-mailing this announcement sooner.
But I’ve been a bit busy.
Ya know, having a baby and all.
This past weekend I went from a meager 2-centimeters dilated to pushing out a 7-pound kid in less time than it takes the cheap Chinese bus to drive from New York City to Boston.
If I was uncertain if I would ever have another child, I am now 100% clear on my decision.
Ain’t no way.
I fear that if I ever go into labor again, there’s a chance I’ll make the 11 o’clock news for birthing a baby in a Wendy’s bathroom stall after consuming an X-large chili at lightening speed.
I’ll have to go into the nightmarish gory details about my labor and delivery process another time.
So without further ado, allow me to introduce the newest addition to the ’sodes family.
Babisodes 2.0*
Born March 21st, 2010 at 1:05am
Is she not the sweetest little orange-y faced baby ever?
She is sporting quite a Glow-worm look due to elevated jaundice. As a result she is sun-bathing under phototherapy in the hospital for another day or two.
So you’ll have to pardon my absence for a bit while I bask in the glow for a few more days.
I’ll be around, but just not as much. I am suffering from extreme-sleep-deprived-new-mom-delirium.
Besides, I have a few more days worth of pain meds and Colace. Thank GOD for Colace!

If it were me I would upgrade Babisodes to Kiddosodes – that’s what I did upgrading my daughter from Baby Sister to Big Sister when my youngest turned out to be a girl. Your new baby is absolutely gorgeous!!! Congratulations!!

gibson had some jaundice too and went in the tanning booth for a few days. i like the little eye masks they give them. i took them home (i don’t know why).
it took me 2 pushes to birth #1 and 3 pushes to birth #2 (b/c he was way bigger than his older sister)…labor was fast and furious…but i think i’d rather take that than those long ones.

How wonderful!!! Congratulations!! She is quite beautiful.
As far as the names go, I say if you do bump Babisodes out of Babisodes, you need to use something different for new Babisodes, or you (and others) would be confused when reading past posts of whether you’re talking about Babisodes the First or Babisodes the Second.
I say keep Babisodes Babisodes for continuity’s sake and have a new name for 2.0….Sistersodes or The Sequel or something.

Let’s see… Babisodes will always be Babisodes to me, so I’d like to see a new name for the newbie. If my older children had named their younger siblings in the “sodes” fashion, we’d have had names such as Runtisodes, Rerunisodes, Burpisodes, and Bratisodes… but you clearly have better sense than that.
I guess I’m feeling grouchy tonight: I keep thinking of highly rejectable suggestions. Babisodes Jr? Lil’ Babisodes? Infantisodes? Well, good luck with the name thing.

Aww, what a sweetie! So glad she finally made an appearance. I’m really glad the labor didn’t go the way the last few weeks have gone.
I’m kind of leaning towards Bittysodes, too. I don’t really like Babisodes 2.0, and it’s cumbersome to keep typing.
When did kids become kiddos? When I was younger, if you referred to someone as kiddo, you were saying something like, “Okay, buddy, what’s your problem?”

YAY! I’m so so soooo excited for you. Personally, I am dying to know what both your daughters’ names are, but I completely respect the desire to protect them from the crazy that can sometimes be the Internet. So, in lieu of telling us their actual names, I think you should keep Babisodes “Babisodes” and I like the earlier suggestion of Bittisodes/Bittysodes.
