Spooning

Some people in this family pay attention to detail. Others don’t.

I always thought I was one of the ones who did.

Apparently,… I was wrong.

*****************************
“Mommy, I’m hungee.  May I haf a snack?”

“Sure. What would you like to have for a snack?”

“Spoons.”

“Spoons? Uh… I don’t think you can actually eat spoons.  Would you like a snack you need a spoon for?”

“No. I want Spoons.”

“Okay, do you want a snack or do you want to play with spoons?”

“I want to eat Spoooooooooons.”

“But you can’t eat spoons?”

“How comes?  But dey right there!”

*points finger at leftover Halloween candy bucket (Um, I have NO idea who would leave something like that out)*

“Honey, there are no spoons you can eat in here.”

“Yes there are!”

“Where? Where do you see spoons in there?”

Here Mommy!”

Freaking Betty Crocker.

Product branding works! Isn’t that what all the marketing gurus are always trying to tell us?

But I sure wish it didn’t work quite so well on little ones…
