Dreams of Her Father
Tuesday, March 24th, 2009Since the birth of my daughter, I have developed a newfound respect for parents dealing with frequent flying, out-of-town situations. Whether for business or military leave, the missed milestones and sad, forlorn faces are never easy to bear.
Now that Dadisodes is trying to get his new company off its feet, he’s spending this week three time zones away in hopes of finding a contract.
Sadly, the goodbyes at the airport only get tougher as Babisodes grows older. She has become more aware of the huge aircrafts along the runway, and their purpose: to take her father away to faraway places.
This time she was tough and brave during her long farewell. However, once the rear window rolled up, I could hear her stifled whimpers from the backseat. And I wanted to cry for her.
So tonight, while Dadisodes hunkers over his laptop at 35,000 feet, Babisodes will be taking his place beside me in bed.
Dreaming of her daddy’s return.

Plus, remember what happened last time? There is NO WAY I’m sleeping in that room alone, even if we have a new hi-tech alarm system. Thankyouverymuch.
