We Did It Again, But This Time It Was Different
Friday, June 27th, 2008Day 2 of preschool
began with trepidation
My mind still reeling
The first to arrive
my hand wrapped tight around hers
Fear factor still high
Curriculum board
made no mention of field trips
Breathing then resumed
With a leap of faith
my hand released hers from mine
She was off, again
Four endless hours
Emotional pendulum
swung from side-to-side
————————————-
Time for her pick-up
Peering through the classroom door
Eating lunch with friends!
Upon my entry
A running hug and bright smile
greeted me halfway
Eager confidence
she stood before her classmates
speaking of her day
A sigh of relief
Day 2 seemed like a success
Many positives
No signs of shyness
pee AND a poop at preschool
No Pull-ups needed!
I am relieved to report that Babisodes’ second day at preschool went incredibly well. However, I am still keeping in mind all that happened on her first day. A few students are leaving her class this week, so I’m hoping it will be more age appropriate soon. We plan to reassess next week.
Have a great weekend!
