Let’s Get It On…FAB!!!

DoinItFABbannerThe time has finally arrived.

Dadisodes and I are ready to get cookin’. Key ingredients have been whipped out, the equipment is good to go, and most importantly, the oven is now set to preheat.

We are now officially in “preconception mode”… and we’re looking for a little help (mind out of the gutter and focus por favor).

For those new to Momisodes, I’m an ex-Neonatal ICU nurse (NICU). So unfortunately, I am fully aware of all the things that can possibly go wrong during and after pregnancy. However, it’s the before part that I’m not as well versed in.

As a medical professional, I know some of the practices that in theory will help individuals “trying to conceive” (TTC) increase their odds. I’m taking my prenatal vitamins, exercising (when possible), eating better. On the same note, I’ve seen parents do everything right, by the book, and have their world overturned. Not to mention, I am older this time around. And following all of the things I now need to chart, calculate and time (like sex), feels as if I’m navigating my way through some bland, boring waters. I read recently that TTC for up to 1 FULL YEAR is “normal.” That is quite a long time (although many couples try for much longer). So why not make things interesting? Enlightening? Spice it up a bit?

So I am turning to those who have the greatest reproductive secrets of all…YOU! Yes, you all who tried the variations of TTC recipes, or just plain know how to shake things up. I read your blogs, and some of you should be Olympic medalists in this sport. Have you been there and done that? Heard of some strange but interesting hypothesis? Or are you also stirring up your own TTC concoction? Whether you have tips that are medically founded, found out while chatting with your Nana (who had 12 kids), or personally have faith in some old wives’ tales… please share them!
