The Best Form of Birth Control
Theme: Heavy
Trust me. I searched high and low for any. other. picture. suitable for today’s theme. I’ve been staring at this picture in “write post” mode for over 2 hours, and I haven’t found the courage to press “publish” just yet. I’ve even considered posting a shot of my car. But this picture of me pregnant at 36 weeks still seems heavier.
This is the heaviest I’ve ever been. NO, I was not carrying twins. And NO, this isn’t my best impression of Shamu.
Whenever hubby asks why I’m not ready to have another child, this photo surfaces.
My husband rarely ever picks up a camera, so during my pregnancy I promised myself I would document my belly growth each week in a photo (even while on bedrest for 4 months). I have over 30 photos of me standing in this exact same spot since there was only 1 piece of furniture high enough to prop my camera on top of.
I’m sure I’ll regret this, and may possibly even pull it post down later.

you look GREAT!! please. i was that small with my son too!!
i gained 28 lbs with him and with the girls i gained 32 lbs. i think pregnant “heavy” is beautiful, although I really don’t think pregnant heavy is heavy at all. 
You look really happy and healthy and glowing!! be proud that you were so beautiful while pregnant and that you are just as beautiful now!!

You think you were BIG? Honey…you should see pictures of me carrying my son…I had the big fat ass, the big fat hips, the belly that looked, truly, like I was carrying twins (because I kind of was…just one of them was a big fat cyst). You are TINY, like I was carrying my girls. Sorry, no birth control there *giggle*
But I’m sure (especially w/ bedrest) that you felt heavy…VERY heavy.

I gained probably around 42 pounds with Ella….a she was a singleton pregnancy *sobs*. I think being trapped at home on bedrest like a VEAL packed on the pounds.

My wife never looked better then when she was pregnant. I’d use the term ‘Hot!’ but she doesn’t like that. What the heck, I gained more weight then she did and she lost most of it with one final push. No suck luck for me. Just think how much ‘Lighter’ you will be with one more giggle in the house. The kids are always worth it.

I understand the difficulty publishing the photo, but like everyone else I think you look GREAT! How long did it take you to get back into shape and how much do love & enjoy Ella now. Those may be more relevant questions for deciding on another pregnancy … and, of course, timing. You’ll need to get settled after the move, right? Right!

You look fabulous!! As a mom of 4 (the last one when I was 40), I didn’t EVER look that good. But I’ve got to agree that no matter how much you weigh….you feel HUGE when you’re 38 weeks along!

I agree with everyone else’s posts – you look so CUTE. Some people make pregnancy look good, and you’re definitely one of them!
Though my pregnancies were very easy, I didn’t look as great as I felt most of the time – unfortunately. It’s hard to turn ‘huge’ into ‘classy’ but it looks like you accomplished that.

OhCaptain- You are so sweet! It does feel nice to shed a dozen pounds after that final push
Too bad my hubby didn’t pack on the pounds with me.
Storyteller- It took a bit of time. My returned to my pre-preggo weight after about 6-8 weeks, BUT I my body didn’t really feel the same until after a year. And of course, nothing is the same anymore. I owe quite a bit of the weight loss to breastfeeding….Being a Dairy Queen can burn some serious calories!

wow! i am jealous! I never ever got that big it got to the point that when I went to L&D (AFTER my water’d broken) that they called my OB’s office JUST to be sure I really was full term lol.

Thor weighed 10.5 pounds when he was born. I was HUGE. I literally had one thing to wear the last week I was pregnant — a voluminous denim jumper (good thing it was October!). none of my other maternity clothes were big enough…
I think you look great, but I know how hard it can be to post pics of yourself…It was hard for me to post those photos of me in my new glasses a couple weeks ago, because ugh. I don’t like photos of me…
I will have to see if I can find a photo of me hugely pregnant with Thor…(we didn’t have digital cameras back then, so I have to dig through actual photos.)…

I think you look fabulous. And seriously so NOT heavy. I really wish I’d taken any pictures when I was pregnant. It may be good birth control, but it’s also amazing. I do admire you, though, for posting a pic that was hard to post. I did that with my thighs last week for the Love Your Body challenge, and I know how difficult that can be.

I have to agree with everyone else – you look absolutely gorgeous! But, believe me, I know exactly how you feel about carrying that weight around. I spent two weeks on bed-rest with my first, and I gained 15lb! That was a really long two weeks! Longer would have driven me mad, I think.

i only WISH i looked like that during all three of my pregnancies. sadly, i looked like shamu! well, not with ross but…with my first two. oh well, i’ll never be pregnant again…thank god. three were enough!
you looked awesome! seriously! you make looking pregnant, so NOT a form of birth control…there is probably going to be a huge amount of bloggers getting pregnant now, so that they can look like that!!
