The Egg Aftermath

Warning: Lame post written while simultaneously viewing 10 browsers.

Hubby was actually home on Easter Sunday, but Friday night he did not come home from work at all. So for most of the weekend while he recuperated, I was a single married mom taming a sugar induced toddler. Fun!

Today I am drowning in work and a monster size pile-o-laundry. I would post a pic but no one wants to see dirty pannies here (there are other sites for that, I think). Instead I’ll post a pic of what I did with all of our Easter eggs from the weekend.

Deviled Eggs

Get the recipe here. I substituted the hot sauce with 2 tsp of mustard (I’m a wuss) and piped in the filling using a Ziploc bag with a small corner snipped off. That’s about as Martha as I get.

Happy Monday! Everyone off their sugar high?

I wish someone would take this candy out of my house! It’s me not the kids eating it all! :) Good idea for the eggs!

Thats a very good idea for the eggs. I’ll have to try it.

You’re way more Martha Stewart than I am. I delegate the eggs to the kids, and we dollop the filling in with a spoon. No fun paprika sprinkling either. Take it or leave it.

Wow that’s some serious Martha there. We didn’t do eggs this year (the little guy is too little to understand egg hunt at this point, he probably just start digging up grass again) but I kinda wish we did after seeing those deviled eggs. YUM!

Girl…You are KILLIN ME!!! I LOVE deviled eggs and make them just as you do. I even do the ziploc bag. I find that SO much easier than spooning it all in! Yeah, I didn’t have to worry about my kids getting the sugar rush..They had to deal with ME when I got mine;o) Hope you have a wonderful evening and get the laundry all caught up!

    Oh yum!

We usually just ate the hardboiled eggs…so great idea!

    Those look yummy!

Would you believe that I’ve not eaten ANY Easter candy? Don’t worry; I will… but so far? Not so much.

    Those look good!

Well, my Monday was officially over yesterday but seeing as I just devoured a whole brandy without blinking, nope, not over my sugar high.

    Have a good week!

I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get into deviled eggs. All that yolk or something. I don’t know… Do they have deviled egg beaters?

    Single married mom here, too.

I seriously want those deviled eggs way more than I want candy right now. Hmm…might have to make some.

Those are SO MARTHA. I figure the egg protein counterbalances the sugar ingestion? Good effort for multitasking!

Amazing what one can do with the abundance of egg leftovers from Easter. I was not able to get the recipe though. Well, we did not make any hard boiled eggs for Easter so I have no leftovers left. Thanks for the post. God bless.

I often liked the aftermath of easter – “having” to eat hard boiled eggs, better than the Easter foods themselves.

Yup … we ate lots of deviled eggs and egg salad sandwiches after Easter as kids growing up ;–)

Multi-tasking can be distracting … but ya did okay in my book. You have, however, missed a link to my Make a Wish Meme post at Small Reflections yesterday (and possibly the one I left at Sacred Ruminations on Saturday, but my memory isn’t too good at the moment). Knowing how you enjoy memes … methunk you might enjoy this one (and I’ve left a nifty ‘incentive’ to encourage folks to join in the fun).

This morning I’ve got One Single Impression posts on each of my blogs … and as soon as I check your post for today, Molly and I are going for a much needed walk!

    Hugs and blessings,
