They’re here…still
There are things in this house that don’t belong.
Nearly a week has passed and they continue to taunt me.
Every morning they greet me downstairs, sniggering. After each meal in the kitchen, they sit beside me, mocking me for thinking I was full and satiated.
These lousy neighborhood kids and their foolish manners, have they no clue?
Don’t they realize when someone holds out a bowl full of candy at the door, you should take more than just one? Help a pregnant lady for crying out loud. Just because I look like I swallowed a toddler whole doesn’t mean I will.
I mean really. The last thing I need is a stash of leftover candy in the house to carry my sugar high into Thanksgiving.
My pregnancy with Babisodes somehow managed to skip right over the holidays. Well, the fattening ones at least.
She was deprived of delicious pies, turkeys, and any gluttonous goodness the holidays have to offer.
This baby girl I’m pregnant with right now? I have hunch her first words may be, “Sni-ker” or “choc-lit.”
Perhaps all of this kicking and punching down there is just morse code for- Unwrap another! Either that or she has a sixth sense for sucrose and does a happy dance when high-caloric foods are nearby.
All I know is that I really hope I don’t have go on bed-rest again. I cannot afford to turn into veal while trapped in the supine position. Not with Thanksgiving and ChristmaHanuKwanzadan on the horizon.
Muscles will atrophy as cellulite takes over.
Anyone want some candy?
Please take more than one.

Maybe you should send one piece to each of your favorite readers??

The amount of candy my children brought home this Halloween is obscene. They collected a huge (yes, huge) diaper box full. Meanwhile, while I was pregnant with Monkey Girl I craved chocolate morning, noon and night. I gave in to a few of those cravings (okay, maybe more than just a few…) To this day, she gets very excited when she gets a small piece of chocolate. Just thought I’d share that tidbit.

LOL! I love the morse code: unwrap another one!
)
I only WISH we had left over chocolate, all I bought this year were lolipops, which are still yummy but not as high priority as chocolate.
My son trick or treated at a friend’s neighborhood (he never does it anywhere since I’m paranoid) and only hit a few houses so I don’t even have THAT going for me!
Enjoy it and then get to work in between holiday binges by hitting the treadmill, or something…

Seriously? That was my exact post today! Well, close to it any way. The only difference is I am wanting the chocolate. And not just any chocolate, the Snickers kind of chocolate. I wish I could just take them for you because nothing else is hitting the spot right now, and I just ran out today. Good luck with that!

We’ve still got leftovers too… I’m trying hard not to succumb to them by having a cigarette when i have the urge to stuff my face. Not recommended, but i have lost 18lb since the summer by doing that ><
Zack was the christmas/easter *noms too much all the time* baby, and was only 1lb heavier than Max who missed most of that.

My butt and my muffintop might not benefit, but since I didn’t really do the whole candy thing this Halloween (instead, I did Disneyland!), I feel like I missed out. Which is why, in addition to taking as much of that candy as you want to give me, I will also continue to raid my coworkers’ candy stashes on a daily basis until it’s all gone.
Please don’t tell my husband. He likes me skinny.
Oh, and on the topic of pregnancy…if I’ve been feeling little waves of nausea and my last period was ten days of realllllly light spotting and virtually NO cramps, does that mean anything to you? Am I? I mean…pregnant? Eek!

We only got two trick or treaters, so we have/had a TON of leftover candy. We’ve worked our way through all of the chocolate, though, and now all we have left are skittles and lollipops. Not to worry, I’ll eat those, too. To great detriment of my thighs. Sigh.

The biggest advantage to not having a neighborhood filled with little kids is that we don’t have any trick-or-treaters and no need to buy Snack Candy. (Doesn’t always work that way, but this year I was good.) I did however lick the monitor when I saw all that chocolate.

I have to agree with your other commenters here, my friend. Live it up. Pregnancy is the one time where you can do and eat as you please. It is the aftermath, that horrible period of weight loss, when you should worry about the candy lingering in your cupboards.
