Treasures and A Green Light
Every day she carries them with her. Intricate details of him covered in a fine layer of dust. Familiarities in a passing stranger begin to tug gently. Uncovering the slight nuances time had obscured.
A heavy, left-handed snap of his finger to a tune; a quick side-glance while holding back a crooked smile; brilliant half moons at the base of bitten nails.
Stunned. The moments catch her off guard. Each memory flickers, stealing a breath. Her plexus slow as her mind struggles for clarity. She remembers. All the secret treasures they shared. Safe. Where no one else can find them.
* This was my first time doing this (it was painful cramming it all into just 100 words). Please be gentle.

Fact. And yes, it IS painful stuffing ideas into 100 words. It makes you choose each word so carefully. But well done. Like I’ve told you, before, you took a wrong turn, somewhere. Because you were meant to be a writer.

It’s about pregnancy?? (I have to say, that’s a funny comment coming from Ash. But don’t tell him I said so.)
I like…that it’s subtle. Like you read it…and then you read it again and possibly once more before you can understand it. Being the Queen of the Obvious, I find myself quite envious at the moment.

Really, that one was amazing. I’m wondering if there’s not some sort of collective writing unconsciousness that we’re tapping into this week, because so many of them look like they’re almost the same person! Just at different stages of life! WEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRD! Okay, at least the first 3 or so that I read. I mean—it’s still weird! Like, when Protection had so many people who did POETRY. It was the first time in YEARS that I wrote a poem! It was nice….

Congrats on the 100 Word challenge … I’ve tried drafting a few but find I’m much too wordy with too little patience for editing. Are you going to tell us whether it’s fact or fiction? Speaking of patience … maybe you need some too? How did I miss you Friday when I haiku’d on both blogs??? Clearly, I’m just too busy!
