Vibrators, Season 2, and Ghosts…Oh My!

So…yesterday’s post was a bit of a Debbie Downer.

Sorry.

After looking at my calendar I realized 3 things.

1) Holy crap! It’s the eve of New Year’s Eve.

2) I can’t end the year with such a depressing post.

3) I have not posted an update about our Christmas, the New Year, ghosts, or anything in such a long time!

So bear with me if you will.  Here is a laundry list of “stuph” that should wipe my slate clean for the New Year.
Christmas:

Babisodes: *tears wrapping paper off box*

Wow!  A insert toy/gift/clothing article?  It’s JUST what I wanted!!!

Wash, rinse, and repeat for every single gift.  Viola.  Merry Christmas!

Three year olds are so easily pleased.  You gotta love it.

Dadisodes:
*tears wrapping paper off his Life Hammer/gag gift*

Wow!  A Life Hammer! This is REALLY a great gift!!!

Dude.  Clearly, I will never find something that will make this man flinch.  But don’t think I’m going to give up trying! I know exactly what I’m giving him next year.

Me: *tears wrapping paper off box*

Wow!  Uh…is this a vibrator?  You shouldn’t have.

Thank you so much for the awesome iPod you gave me for my birthday last month. I really love it!

Ghosts/Ghostses/Creepy crawly stuff goin’ on up in herre:

Since the last few bizarre encounters, there has only been 1 incident.  Dadisodes and I were lying in bed late one night when we heard a soft, young voice (not Babisodes’) whisper, “Mom…”

We had to change the sheets. Immediately.

Preschool:

Today was Babisodes’ official last day of preschool.   I am a bit sad that she will no longer have this time to herself  twice a week, and I will miss my “me time” dearly.  The school has graciously offered to save us a spot for Fall if would like re-enroll her in September.

Resolutions:

I made a list of resolutions for 2008 and updated it mid year.  I will not be revisiting the list today. Let’s just say that out of 13 goals, I’ve crossed off maybe 2. There is nothing “resolute” about me. I am the most indecisive person on Earth. I can barely settle on what foods to eat every day.  So this year, I’m setting the bar low.  Really low.  As in, heck no am I making a list again.

New Year:

Holy crap. Can I tell you how much I’m looking forward to the New Year?  2008 had some great moments, but I have to say that the sucky to great moment ratio was definitely skewed.  So after blogging about it for 365 days, the New Year will start with a short bloggy break. Yup, that’s right folks.  Momisodes will NOT be clogging up your Readers and Inboxes for a few days. Did you hear that?  D_A_Y_S.  Dadisodes nearly passed out when the words slipped out of my mouth.  It is the least I could do for myself (and you).  And those who are also crawling past the Blog365 finish line?  I hope you’ll do the same.

So there you have it.  I hope I’ve covered my bases for unfinished business in 2008.

I want to thank each and every one of you who come and visit my humble blog. This marathon blogging experience has turned out to be far more than I anticipated. I have made personal growth and incredible connections with so many of you that I will forever hold dearly.  The relationships I’ve found online are difficult to put into words, sparing any chance of sounding a bit loony.  But please know that I treasure you all.   Your emails, comments and messages have lifted and carried me through this arduous year of incredible highs and lows, and for that and so much more….I thank you.

Wishing all of you (even lurkers) all the best for 2009.

Stay tuned for Season 2 of Momisodes!

Coming January __, 2009, right here.

See you on the flip side.

p.s. There will be a final Wordless Wednesday tomorrow.  It’s gonna be kill’ah.

Oh no! You’re actually taking time off from blogging? What will I do? Seriously, even though I will go through withdrawal, you deserve the bloggging break. In fact, everyone who made it through Blog 365 deserves a vacation.

Have a happy, healthy and fertile New Year!! (Still keeping good thoughts and my fingers crossed for you!)

::: chanting ::: blogging break, blogging break, blogging break ::: chanting :::

    WHOO HOO!

I think you just inspired me for my final post of the year tomorrow… of course I “say” it will be my final post of the year and then something will happen, and I’ll blog AGAIN tomorrow.

And then something will happen for the next two weeks, and I’ll just. keep. blogging.

    Or not. We’ll see. :)

Hehehe, you made me giggle. I may as well go ahead and take the opportunity now to say how glad I am that I’ve gotten to know you in the blogosphere this year. You are a gem. I cannot wait for another year of episodes, daily or otherwise. If you write, I’ll be reading. And I’m kind of jealous about the, um, massager and am dead curious about what your next gift to Dadisodes will be. :)

I may have been 365 day for you blogging, but I’ve only been reading for about, well not nearly that long, so I’m not ready for a break.
But do what you must — if you feel you must.

Drop by anytime. I love you comments. I’ll be checking by to catch you when you return.

Happy New Year — I’ll miss you and Babisodes.

I will miss you while you are taking your break. But, everyone needs a vacation occasionally. I’ve certainly taken time off more than once this year. I was reading one of Zazamataz’s blogs the other day. She said one thing she has learned is to only work on one goal at a time. So I am taking that advice to heart this year and working only on the goal of getting into better shape physically. When I feel comfortable and confident with that goal, I will add in something else. Perhaps you need to cut your list from 13 to 1 and try the One Goal philosophy, too. Have a nice rest!

Thanks for the ‘balance’ of this upbeat post …
I confess that when you convinced me to join Blog 365 about this time last year, I had REAL reservations … but am surprised that it’s not been as much of a drag or challenge than I thought it might be … and you know I’ve posted on other blogs too (thought not daily) all year long so I’ve accumulated a total of 659 posts during 2008 as of this moment … 376 of those were at Small Reflections … 11 more than necessary ;–)

Who knew I’d be so obsessive? As for taking time off … I dunno, but maybe I’ll consider it and see what happens. I do have several books I’ve been wanting to read. Hope you have a joyous 2009.

HOLY CRAP. I would have had to change the sheets too. That little ghostie would have scared the poos right out of me. Thanks for the update on that. I’ve been wondering.

About the creepy ghostses, after hearing that and hearing about the tree speaking to her, I’d say it sounds like Babisodes has some psychic ability. That’s something I’m very interested in, so I’m curious about her ghostses, but I don’t want to see any strange ones in MY HOUSE!

These stories are creepy. I can relate to your being freaked out when Dadisodes isn’t there, but even more because the stuff isn’t normal. Unless somebody’s living in your house when you’re not looking. :-)

New Year’s Eve, after I went to bed at 1 minute after midnight, I woke up in the middle of the night to a crash-boom-boom in my kitchen. Since I no longer have any pets, I lay there trying to breathe softly, my heart racing up to about 600 beats a minute. Did someone just break into my kitchen?

Eventually I got brave enough to get up. Middle of the night turned out to be 10:30 a.m. The burglar turned out to be a shelf I had put up across two windows, where I had a bunch of potted plants. Shelf and pots had decided to fall down and break. What fun.
