Victoria’s Secret catalog or This? Not sure which is better.
Remember the maggots from last year?
The ones Dadisodes thought would be a great business trip gift for Babisodes in lieu of a stuffed animal.
Yes, my husband thought that having ladybug maggots inside our house would be a good idea.
Anyhow, when he purchased the ladybug habitat we had to request for the live larvae to be sent to our house when we were ready. Wouldn’t want bugs to die or anything.
Unfortunately, the ordering process required us to provide our address. Which apparently placed us on their mailing list.
So we can purchase more maggots, larvae, pupa, etc….
Or other disgusting insects.
I mean, it’s almost Spring for crying out loud.
We can get all of this stuff outside soon.
For free.
Did I mention outside?

OK. I *HAVE* to know. Can you order cockroaches?
Because, that would be tragic if they got loose.

@Coal Miner’s Granddaughter- Oh, no. I didn’t see cockroaches in there. That would be TRAGIC indeed!
@Angela- We’ve seen a few around here too this week! Trust me. The larvae stage is no where near as pretty as the final product.

I ditto the “ewwww’s”. I HATE bugs. You mean you actually looked through the catalog to know there were no cockroaches??? LOL! Just the thought grosses me out. And yes, the ladybugs that infested us are slowly starting to pop up everywhere in the house here too.

Crazy is right. My son’s preschool orders the butterfly larvae. It’s kinda cool to watch. And gross.

Just so you don’t feel alone in your larvae habitat business: we’ve had them too! And they were a gift as well, but we had butterflies. Which were cool, but I must be honest…the pupa were just grody. Yes, I used the 80’s vernacular because it was that bad. I guess we could think of ourselves as belonging to a really cool club, right??

Twice in the last week, I have looked over on my pillow as I lay down for the night and came face to face (so to speak) with ladybugs. It feels a might early for them and definitely not loving them on my pillow, but I think a ladybug in the house is lucky? Doesn’t mean I would want to raise them or anything.

I second your belief that bugs belong outside the home. But I have to admit that seeing a few spiders inside my house lately has had one upside – it reminds me that spring is coming. Now if only I could view ALL indoor insects as harbingers of good weather and not simply disgusting creatures worthy of immediate destruction…

This is funny!
We have plenty of ladybugs and flys (the big black kind) in our house. I have no idea where they come from but they’ll randomly appear alive and bouncing off the walls and lights. Then another day I’ll notice them dead on the floor.
So if you want either of these, I can try to catch them and mail them to you, hopefully before they die…

We had just recently gotten the caterpillars that hibernate in the cocoon and “transform into beautiful butterflies”. One day we walk up to the “butterfuly pavillion” in which the cocoons were housed and my oldest daughter asks, “Did something explode in there???” We weren’t around when they hatched from the cocoon but apparently… it’s a bloody process… GAG!!!!!!!!!
