I can never buy Halloween candy ahead of time and it last until the 31st. I’ve already gone through three bags. It’s reassuring to know I’m in good company.

  2. GedNo Gravatar

Yep, happens to me every year too. If I’d just buy the crap candy I think I could avoid the problem, but I’ll be damned if I’ll hand out Smartees and Peeps instead of Reeses or Kit Kats.

  3. MomisodesNo Gravatar

Tara R- But it was on SALE!!!! Hook, line and sinker. Yup, that was me.

Ged- LOL, I agree. I’d hate to hand out stuff I wouldn’t dare eat myself ;)

  4. workout mommyNo Gravatar

that always happens to me too! This year I have only bought candy that I do not like. It cannot tempt me!!!!

This is why the stores sell the crap early! They plan it that way.

  8. MomisodesNo Gravatar

Workout mommy- At the rate I’m going, I’m sure I’ll be scrambling for those unwanted candies at the store last minute.

Beth- hehe. 4 days isn’t so bad :)

Dysfunctional mom- That would certainly help. But it was on SALE! :)

Grandy- Yup, for those who lack self-control *ahem* like me.

Having gone to the store too late to buy my Halloween candy more years than I can count, I have to say it doesn’t matter if you eat it, or if someone else buys it before you do, the result will be the same: nothing to hand out on Halloween night. *chuckle* At least you tried.

    Happy WW!

There’s one good thing about being a Type II Diabetic. It seriously cuts into the temptation to just dive head first into the candy bowl. So I’m left to just occasionally nibble around the edges, so to speak.

  30. michelleNo Gravatar

oh, goodness that is so WHY we don’t buy it until a day or two before! Now I want some chocolate!

  31. KarenNo Gravatar

I’ve given over long ago that if we buy any before the actual day of Halloween that it’ll be ingested post-haste.

  32. AngelaNo Gravatar

Yep! Happens to me every time. Is it bad that with every trip to the grocery store that I think: Maybe I should just buy it now so I can start eating it rather than my continous pining? What I would do for some peanut butter/chocolately goodness?!

Looks like you bought your Halloween candy too early! Since we always have candy around the house, I had to cut back in October so that Halloween would be special.

  36. Joyce-AnneNo Gravatar

I am exactly the same way. I’ve started buying candy that I don’t like so I’m not tempted to partake early. However, I make up for all that on Halloween when I gladly take candy off that my children don’t like off their hands.

  37. marinaNo Gravatar

Interesting pic, I love black and whites, they are so much more detailed and clear! My husband does a lot of black and whites.

  50. CCNo Gravatar

Hee hee! That is why I don’t buy it at all. Oh, and b/c I’m cheap. I take some of the kids’ collected candy and hand that out (we only get a few people that come to our door). Don’t tell me kids though!

  51. ChristineNo Gravatar

And that my dear is precisely why I do not buy until the very last minute. Last year I bought too much. You should have seen the looks on the faces at the kids who came at the end of the evening when I put handfuls of stuff in their bags. Their jaws dropped and they stuttered “Th..th..thank you!” The only other solution I can think of is to buy stuff I don’t like. Problem with that is I will eat anything even the crap candy.
